FAQ

Fair questions. Straight answers.

The things cafe owners usually ask before booking a call.

Do I need new hardware or a new till?
No. The app works alongside whatever till you already use. Customers show a QR code on their phone; staff scan it with their own phone. There's nothing to install behind the counter and no POS integration required.
How do my staff actually use it?
Staff sign in to the same app with a staff account and get their own view: a scanner for awarding and redeeming points, a live dashboard, and a shop-wide activity feed. Awarding a point takes a couple of seconds mid-service. Managers additionally get insights and the ability to send messages to all members.
Will people really download an app for one cafe?
Your regulars will, and they're the whole point of loyalty. A cafe's best customers visit multiple times a week; giving them a card they can't lose, a visible free-drink countdown, and occasional offers on their phone is exactly the kind of app people keep. And unlike a paper card, every download is a customer you can reach again.
Who owns the app and the customer data?
You do, properly. The apps are published under your cafe's own Apple and Google accounts, and all member data lives in your own database, hosted in the UK. If we ever stop working together, everything keeps running and stays with you.
What data does the app collect?
The minimum it needs to run: name, email, a user ID, loyalty activity and a push-notification token. No tracking, no ads, no third-party analytics, and data is encrypted in transit. Customers can delete their account from inside the app, and privacy, terms and account-deletion pages ship as standard.
Can I send offers to my customers?
Yes. Managers get a broadcast tab: write a message and it goes to every member's inbox and phone as a push notification. It's unlimited and built in, with no per-message fees.
How long does it take?
Typically 3–4 weeks from kickoff to app-store submission. The build is proven; we're tailoring it to your brand and setting up your own accounts and database, not starting from scratch.
What does the care plan cover, and what if I stop it?
£100–200/month covers OS and store updates, hosting oversight, monitoring and small changes. It's entirely optional: the app is yours either way, and stopping the plan doesn't switch anything off.
Does it do online ordering or payments?
No, deliberately. This is a loyalty app: points, rewards and messages, done really well. No payment data is handled anywhere in the app, which also keeps your compliance surface small.
How is this different from Stamp Me, LoyalZoo or Square Loyalty?
Those are subscriptions inside someone else's platform: you pay monthly forever, your cafe is a logo in their app, and the customer relationship lives in their system. A Loyza build is your own app under your own name, paid for once and owned outright: branding, listings, data and all.
